Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a business fraternity and a social fraternity?

Business fraternities are professional organizations with the purpose of preparing members for their career following college. A business fraternity aims to give students experiential learning opportunities and real world connections to help them gain insight into their career paths. Social fraternities are social organizations meant to help students build relationships with other students on campus.

Can you rush a social fraternity/sorority and a business fraternity?

Absolutely! Students interested in gaining resources to help them professionally in addition to experiencing the community of a social fraternity or sorority can rush both types of organizations. A large number of PSE members participate in Greek  life on campus and are equally involved in both organizations

What do you look for in interviews?

Throughout our interview process we look for individuals who are driven, passionate, and eager to learn. During the first round interviews, we look to see who you are as a worker, teammate, and leader. In the “meet-the-chapter” event we want to see who you are as an individual. We like to learn more about your interests, hear what you’re passionate about, and get to know you in a more relaxed setting.

What is the Regional and National Convention?

At both the regional and national conventions, PSE chapters participate in marketing, sales, public speaking, and professional development workshops. At the national convention, all PSE chapters come together to compete on the professional work they have completed during that year.

What majors do you accept?

PSE is accepting students from  all majors. We have members studying course work in all 5 colleges on campus! From graphic design, to accounting, to engineering, PSE aims to give members professional development and experience that is meaningful to any career path.

What do you do in your chapter meetings?

Zeta Xi meets every Tuesday of the semester at 7:30-8:30 PM. What makes us unique is not one meeting is the same. We constantly bring in new speakers, workshops, and professional development activities.
